Nervousness & Stage Fright

Nervousness is a natural part of performing. The goal is not to eliminate nervousness entirely - but to be able to sing with it.

Why do we get nervous?

Stage fright is often caused by:

  • Fear of failure
  • Need for control
  • Too little experience in safe settings

When we get nervous, the body goes into high alert, which affects breathing and voice.

Technique builds confidence

A solid technique gives you something concrete to lean on when nerves strike. It can be:

  • Breathing and support
  • Focus on communication
  • Thorough preparation

Knowing what you are doing - and why - brings calm.

Mental training

We also work with mental strategies that help you to:

  • Shift focus from yourself to the music
  • Accept nervousness instead of fighting it
  • Create inner calm through repetition and routines

Nervousness is not a sign of weakness - it is a sign that it means something to you.
